Ingredients for Life #60: “Forks Over Knives” Documentary Discussion

This week, Romy and Michael talk about the changes that Mike and Lorrie have made to their exercise routines and the importance of doing more exercise around cheat meals.

Next, Romy presents a review of the documentary Forks Over Knives, which focuses on the work and research of the China Study by T. Colin Campbell and Dr Caldwell Esselton, which supports whole food vegan diets that avoid all food products from animal proteins and dairy.

Romy discusses the benefits of whole foods, but also what she believes are some holes or flaws in the restrictions they recommend, and the difficulties most people would encounter trying to purchase and prepare only whole foods and raw foods, but she did appreciate their coverage of the problems with processed foods and with subsidized production of high fructose corn syrup and other processed sugars.
