Ingredients for Life #11: Habits and Behavioral Changes

Show Topic: Habits and Behavioral Changes

Romy Nelson is a registered dietetic technician and personal trainer, and this show is about helping people find their path to health and fitness. She specializes in corporate wellness programs to help businesses keep their employees healthy, which helps improves workplace morale and productivity.

In this episode, Romy, Michael and Jeffrey welcome special guest Lisa Chapa, a licensed professional counselor specializing in behavioral change who works with Romy’s clients.

Jeffrey talks about the small food and eating changes that Romy’s helped him make so far, his shift in food awareness, but mentions that he still has problems doing food logging.

Lisa and Romy also demonstrate an exercise designed to help people get into the habit of food logging and into the habit of being accountable for all of the food they are eating, both of which is part of the work that goes into successfully building and incorporating permanent new behaviors.

Building new behaviors takes time, with both eating habits and exercise habits, but neither task needs to feel like work or sacrifice!
