Ingredients for Life #4: Sustaining Doesn’t Mean Overnight

Show Topic: Sustaining Doesn’t Mean Overnight

Romy Nelson is a registered dietetic technician and personal trainer, and this show is about helping people find their path to health and fitness. She specializes in corporate wellness programs to help businesses keep their employees healthy, which helps improves workplace morale and productivity.

In this episode, Romy, Michael and Jeffrey talk about how seasonal changes may and can affect your mindset towards healthy eating and fitness routines.

Don’t expect yourself to undo years or decades of bad eating and/or exercise habits in a week or two, but you don’t have to beat yourself up for slipping up every now and again.

It takes time to fully incorporate new habits, and there’s no reason to get discouraged or frustrated after hitting a “plateau”. Try not to focus on the weight on the scale, but instead record your measurements and use that to track your progress.

Remember, Maintenance is the hardest stage of change, no matter what you’re changing.

Visualization is a tool you can use to help you reach your fitness goals, and there are steps you can take nutritionally to help your brain perform better, which in turn helps you make your body perform better.

Finally, they talk about what fast foods they’ve begun avoiding, and which oils to try to stick with when cooking at home.
